The picture in the article is about isosceles, not weaver. This page has proper pictures for both: http://www.io.com/~cortese/firearms/index.html

Actually the stance is Isosceles but hold is not. Isosceles needs locked arms, as we can see from the link, but soldiers arms in the picture are bent. This hold looks more mixed Turret and Isosceles.

If the stance on the picture is Isosceles and the arms are what-ever, the picture doesn't belong to an article about the Weaver stance. I'll delete it. --Thosch66 19:58, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

What, two jack weavers?

The article starts crediting Jack Weaver with inventing the stance and winning a lot of competitions later on. Then the last sentence suggests there's two Weavers (no first name, so presumably both Jacks) and credit for invention is in doubt??

This page could really benefit from a picture or diagram.

I'm sure we can find a trained individual and photograph them in the proper position. Isosceles Technique?

I'm wondering, is there any page for the Isosceles Stance and the "modified isosceles?" They're quickly becoming the more common technique for handgun use, and it's strange that there's no companion article to weaver. Right/Left-handed or right/left eye dominate??

"A right-handed person will have the right foot angled out to the side and further to the rear. Most of the weight will be on the left foot, with the knee slightly bent. The shoulders will be leaned forward over the left toe. The right foot behind will help catch the force of recoil, as well as allow for rapid changes in position. A left-handed person will have the right foot forward."

Shouldn't this read,"A person firing right-handed ... and ... A left-handed firing person..."

I am not just left-handed, I kick footballs and such with my left foot. In fact, I believe you could say I am predominately left-sided by a wide margin; I even put my left pants leg, shirt sleeves, and socks/shoes on first when dressing. I also put my left contact lens in first. There are only two things, besides utilizing equipment that is only usable as right-handed, that I do right-handed. The first is welding (I can weld left-handed, too) and the second is firing a weapon.

Welding I learned from my father, who was right-handed. He said a good welder could weld with either hand and taught me to do so.

I fire a weapon right-handed because my right eye is the dominate one.

Therefor, is being right or left-handed the usable criteria? Or is it which is your dominate, or "sighting", eye.

In the context of shooting a gun, handedness strictly refers to which hand you use to pull the trigger, not which hand you would use for other things such as writing. And since the general rule is that your handedness while shooting should match your dominate eye, there is a built-in assumption that that is the case. - Bardbom (talk) 03:55, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Needs an infobox
