Comment[edit]

Would it be more appropriate to move the target article here and either turn the weatheradio page into a redirect to here or a disambiguation to differentiate between a "weather radio" and a "weatheradio" (product from RadioShack?)(Steelerdon (talk) 17:24, 17 September 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Weatheradio is a term used by Radio Shack and the Canadian government. It is not used by the U.S. government. The term "weather radio" should be the standard term used in this article unless referring specifically to Weatheradio Canada or a Radio Shack receiver.

There is no mention of what kind of FM is used -- wide or narrow deviation. The channels are 25kHz apart so presumably its pretty narrow. But surely an indication of the maximum deviation and appropriate filter bandwidth for receivers would be useful if somebody who knows could add this information. I propose to merge NOAA Weather Radio into Weather radio. I think that the content mostly covers the same subject and that it's redundant to have two different pages that covers the same subject. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ehsnils (talkcontribs) 06:09, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree. While some overlap is natural, one is specific to U.S. weather radio's history and development in depth, while the other is international and thus oriented in breadth. Making one a subsection of the other would be like combining Premier League and Association football. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.135.148.177 (talk) 21:21, 8 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
