reworking of "whats love got to do with it ? "[edit]

The reason that Beyond Thunderdome sounds so much like Whats love got to do with it ? Is that The song was written by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, and these two wrote Whats Love got to do with it , for the Tina Turner movie of the same name, based on the Tina Turner authored book "Tina, I" . I think Tina Turner just wanted to repeat a movie anthem for her second movie... Whats copyright got to do with it ? Second song, same as the first ! 2001:8003:2B1A:CF00:710F:1E10:BB33:260B (talk) 12:58, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Oppressed?[edit]

I'm deleting the part about the lyrical content. Currently it says: "The song's lyrical content is written from the perspective of those being oppressed and not wanting to get their hopes up in yet another "hero" who may or may not save them."

That interpretation isn't supported by a reference to a source, or the lyrics themselves. There's nothing in the lyrics about being oppressed - in fact the lyrics talk about being "left behind", implying there's no-one else there, oppressor or otherwise. It also makes no reference to hoping for rescue, or waiting for a hero, or not wanting to get their hopes up for a hero because one never comes. I don't know what the lyrics are getting at, but to me it seems like the singer wants a life without violence. THAT's why they don't want "another hero", and also why they hope they can get "Beyond the Thunderdome" (i.e. move beyond settling our disputes by killing each other). My interpretation is a total guess, of course, so I won't put it in, I'll just delete the old one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.165.82.35 (talk) 01:12, 24 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

meaning of the song[edit]

Guess that finding out what the lyrics want to say is quite pointless without having watched the movie (I have not). I'm not a native speaker either, but I'm wondering what is so wrong about "knowing the way home"? Here are further discussions on the lyrics, but some suggest that you should not try to understand what the song may try to say. --Kuhni74 (talk) 12:06, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
