First quick review of the article[edit]

A quick glance at the article shows that it has a lot of useful information, but that it also has a number of weaknesses, such as:

The article is broader than what its title indicates, with substantial information on water resources that may better be relegated to a separate article on the topic
The history section is fragmented and far from complete, especially if it attempts to cover the history of water resources managament in Egypt, evidently a complex topic. It may be better to focus on (drinking) water supply and sanitation since the 19th century.
The section on external cooperation includes only two donors, while many more donors are active in water supply and sanitation in Egypt.
Some voluminous sources are quoted extensively without specifying on which page of the source document the quoted facts are to be found, making it tedious to check the facts and to correct mistakes or sloppy oversights in the quotes, of which so far I have found two in the article after just a quick review.
There are 29 Governorates of Egypt, but it seems that only cities in 12 of them are covered by water and sewer companies. Which entities are in charge of service provision in the 17 other governorates?

I will go ahead and make some minor factual corrections, keeping in mind that much more probably needs to be done for which I don't have the time. I encourage others to do contribute to the article and to improve it further.--Mschiffler (talk) 03:20, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
