Walter Dropo was the first player to top 100 or more RBI than games played (144 in 136 games, 1950)
I think this is supposed to read something like "first to top 100 or more RBI with more RBI than games played". However, this is not correct - lots of players had more RBI than games played before Dropo (for example, Lou Gehrig did it five times). It looks like this statement was copied from elsewhere on the web, without being checked for accuracy. I think Dropo may have been the first to do this as a rookie, but I haven't verified this. But clearly, the statement is not correct as it stands. Dsreyn 14:16, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I did some checking on this. The only other possible rookie I found that accomplished this was Dave Orr, who had 112 RBI in 110 games in the American Association in 1884. Orr had played 14 games for two teams in 1883, so it's unclear whether he would have been regarded as a rookie in 1884. So for now, I'm going to restrict it to "only rookie in the 20th century".
