Great Balls of Fire (2017)WWE Great Balls of Fire – compliance with precedents; when an event is the first of its kind (like this one), the title should not include the year, but instead WWE [event name] until another one is scheduled. See the move log for WWE Roadblock, that was not moved from its title until another one was announced. JTP (talkcontribs) 14:37, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 18:26, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • @NotTheFakeJTP and Crow: Would it not be better, as in the case of WWE Roadblock and Roadblock (March 2016), to leave the GBoF'17 article as-is, since it covers that specific event, and edit the redirect page to be like the main Roadblock page which covers the series? Otherwise we'll just be moving it again once GBoF'18 happens. CrowCaw 15:50, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Crow: The current WWE Roadblock was not created until the announcement of Roadblock: End of the Line, the second event in the Roadblock chronology. The original WWE Roadblock was subsequently moved to Roadblock (March 2016) to distinguish it from the second event. Great Balls of Fire does not need distinguishing unless a second event is announced. JTP (talkcontribs) 19:03, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
      • I vote to remove the year. Chances are this will probably be the only time they use this name for a PPV since it's a ridiculous name. OldSkool01 (talk) 19:50, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for the explanation. @Anthony Appleyard: I wasn't really contesting this request, just making sure that the move rationale was correct before pulling the trigger on the move, and upon the above explanation and further investigation, it does fit with the standard schema at the project. • Move: NotTheFakeJTP has a point. 2017 is the first year of WWE's Great Balls of Fire PPV, so the title should be "WWE Great Balls of Fire" unless there is another PPV of the same name later on. Hansen Sebastian 05:21, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
  • Support Until WWE confirms the next year's event, let's just keep it as "WWE Great Balls of Fire". Nickag989talk 09:41, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move: As above. Donnowin1 (talk) 18:47, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
