Looks like an ad to me. --TonySt, Vandalism Ninja 16:41, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I put this up for AfD, because it certainly looks like an ad to me. I don't think it can be edited to npov. Nazgjunk - - Signing is for Whimps 11:40, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

WPKN article is not an ad[edit]

WPKN is one of the rarest of radio stations operating in the USA today - they accept no advertising and no corporate sponsorships. The radio station is totally funded by the listeners and that makes it as non-commercial as it is possible to be. There are no "NPR-like" sponsor mentions on WPKN. There are also no "formats" or playlists, or anything else forcing the programmers into a pre-defined notion of what radio should be like.

WPKN is also notable for having been a "voice in the wilderness" during the Reagan years by pointing out the failed policies of the USA in Central America. WPKN programmers continue to lead the political debate during the current Iraq war, and are as active as ever in community events in and around the local Bridgeport, CT area.

Listen to the WPKN stream for a while and you will find a unique perspective that you will not find anywhere else.

Agreed, not an advertisement. I have connection to WPKN or Bridgeport. They are the last of the truely public (that is, not infected) media. Bobkeyes (talk) 11:59, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Moonies[edit]

Hi. Why isn't there anything here about the radio station's former (may still be?) ownership by the Moonies? Stevenmitchell (talk) 22:11, 14 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
