So... Guys in which age Lord Brahma wrote the Vedas Was it in the dawn of time or satya yuga? Weeabo-kun2198 (talk) 17:07, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Weeabo-kun2198: Brahma didn't and doesn't write anything down, but rather disseminates knowledge through an oral guru-disciple tradition. At the start of each Kalpa (day of Brahma), Brahma meditates and performs austerities to receive the knowledge. Vyasa is accredited as the writer (composer) of the Vedas as well as Mahabharata, Puranas, etc. Near the end of each Dvapara Yuga, of which there are 1,000 in a Kalpa, a different Vyasa writes down a unique version of the Vedic knowledge in foresight of the needs for the degraded age that follows, Kali Yuga, an age described as having people with imperfect memories and inferior spiritual intelligence (superior material intelligence). The original purport of Vyasa's works becomes completely lost before the main part of Kali Yuga starts (within the first 36,000 years), which is why the age becomes very degraded according to the Vedic descriptions. This is apparent with the various Hindu texts that have been lost due to unpopularity (palm leafs deteriorate over time, so recopying is required), due to destruction (opposing religions, cultures, etc.), and due to redactions by those who may not fully understand the purport or who have opposing agendas. This process of re-teaching is described in Bhagavad-gita, chapter 4, where Krishna instructed knowledge through guru-disciple relations repeatedly.
* Krishna > Vivasvān (sun-god) > Manu (father of mankind) > Ikṣvāku > etc. > lost
* Krishna > Arjuna > etc.
