Voyageur bus routes[edit]

"Martin continues to own Voyageur Colonial, although the company no longer (?) runs bus lines. It retains ownership of the bus terminals in Ottawa and Montreal."

Please verify. As far as I am aware two routes from Montreal to Ottawa (One south and one north of the Ottawa River) are still run under the Voyageur name.

Montreal/Ottawa Routes[edit]

Voyageur used to operate three Montreal/Ottawa routes:

Montreal/Ottawa EXPRESS Montreal/Ottawa (via Lachute/Hawkesbury) North Montreal/Ottawa (via Dorion/Hawkesbury) South

According to the latest cache of voyageur.com (the original doesn't seem to work), all service have been transfered over to Greyhound. HOWEVER, when querying Greyhound's website for a Montreal/Ottawa trip, it mentions the carrier as VCL.

All Greyhound Canada (or 3554384 Canada Inc.) buses carry Alberta plates, but to satisfy provincial regulations their subsidiaries Grey Goose Bus Lines, Penetang-Midland Coach Lines and Voyageur Colonial Bus Lines have some locally registered buses. For example Gray Line in Toronto is "Operated by PMCL" with all the vehicles carrying Ontario plates and Voyageur buses, although many say "Operated by Greyhound Canada", have Ontario or Quebec plates. On the other hand, I expected the Grey Goose bus that I saw recently to have Manitoba plates - but they were Alberta. Removal of material on Paul Martin / pension benefits in ownership change[edit]

I have removed material discussing the (apparent - I did not investigate) pension fund shortfall around the sale of Voyageur's lines from CSL to Greyhound. The article put undue weight on this issue, which while doubtlessly painful for the people affected, does not seem to be the most important substantive info of relevance about Voyageur. The text also made a point of discussing Paul Martin's 50% ownership of Voyageur's previous owner. I believe this was an attempt at WP:COATRACK from the time when Paul Martin was Canadian finance minister and prime minister, and did not have a place in this article. Regardless of whether it was significant, verifiable, at the time, it is not of long-lasting encylopedic value now. It was also unreferenced. Martinp (talk) 17:49, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Montréal-Kingston-Toronto[edit]

Voy(ag)eur used to run Montréal-Toronto, this is now Trentway-Wagar aka Coach Canada. These buses account for the majority of Kingston traffic (VCL still runs Kingston-Ottawa-Kingston, physically one bus which makes two runs daily, but that's it).
