Reasons why this page should be kept[edit]

I removed the prod and added some more material and references. I concede the page can do with more third party citations. But here are reasons why this page should be reatined, imperfect as it may be at present.

o Any author whose books have sold over ten million copies is surely noteable!

o The lack of extensive third party sources in English reflects the fact that most of the movement is still based in Russia.

o Interwiki already features Finnish, Hungarian, and Russian pages on Megre.

o Megre and his Ringing Cedars books are listed in 1996 in literature

I read the wording of the original (2007 iirc) page and agree that it was not written in a suitable style for Wikipedia. I believe this present version is, and can serve as a foundation for further work. M Alan Kazlev (talk) 23:48, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request for removal of offensive material[edit]

Dear Wikipedia Staff,

Under the page name of Vladimir Megre certain individuals are placing unconfirmed facts which of a direct offensive nature.

Not a single mentioned argument has been proven or confirmed by facts.

We are demanding to remove the offensive material from the page under the name of Vladimir Megre and replaced with his autobiographical material from the web page http://www.vmegre.com, as well as a link to his personal website - www.VMegre.com.

The unconfirmed offensive material is bringing personal moral as well as financial damage to the author and as a host of such information your company may be liable for the damages.

As a result of false and unconfirmed material we are receiving many letters directed to Mr. Megre with a request to clear up this information.

We are certain that placement of the current information is then simply because of misinformation and in this particular case we will not take any legal steps. However, we are asking you to prevent similar steps from being taken.

I agree that any criticism should be well-sourced. If as Mr Gromov says the controversial material in the previous edit is spurious, it should be removed forthwith, which I have done in the revised page. However, Wikipedia's role is not to serve as a source of uncritical promotional material. Also the "official biography" cannot be used unless it is GNU open source license. Translation of Russian sources and integration of all available English material[edit]

Hey guys I am in the process of translating various Russian news items, interviews and so forth, as well as updating information based on the available information in English—more than there was at the time of the last updates. I have also added references wherever they are applicable. Since this author's books are partly memoir, the biographical events sometimes refer to parts of his own writing. Otherwise, I have used interviews and his official biography at vmegre.com/en.

A more nuanced and complete description of the Family Homestead settlements will be possible by including third-party analysis of the movement from reputable sources. There are a number of academic chapters and articles on this topic which would be useful to the general scholarship here. This is the next task.

Authors works influencing Anistatia Cult/Sect[edit]

Given the articles by Euronews and France24 about the Anastasia Sect, would updating the section about the section about the land movmenets (currently worded almost like an advertisement) be significant? Or would a separate article make more sense?

To summarise, according to the sources listed, the authors' works have influenced the creation of far-right sects (homestead-like communes) across Europe, originating in Russia.
