I am Tim Rowledge. I did not work on VSE. I did not work for Digitalk. I don't think I ever even saw VSE running.

I *did* work with Smalltalk/V whilst working at IBM as a Research Fellow and later for some Smalltalk Express Ltd projects. Then I worked on a commercialised derivative of Eliot Miranda's VM that I sold for a few years including to Active Book Company for their Active Book tablet machine (see also Momenta, EO, PenPoint etc). Then I worked for ParcPlace for several years developing, and then managing the development of, the VisualWorks system.
