Obscurity?[edit]

The article says, "He fell victim to the Zhdanov purge of artists in 1948 and fell into obscurity afterwards." But then we see he was awarded the Stalin prize in 1951, and two of his notable works are from later in the 1950s. I'd like to learn more about this composer's life and music, but the article as it stands isn't much help. Hope somebody can help with this article. Opus131 (talk) 01:25, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I too was struck by the contradiction between the reference to Shebalin's fall into obscurity after 1948 and the reference to the Stalin Prize in 1951. What confuses me even more, however, is that the separate section listing his "honours and awards" lists two Stalin Prizes, one in 1943 and the other in 1947.
