Almost all of the material I've seen calls it "VisiOn", a play on "vision". I have seen the name separated, as in the article here, but always in magazine articles and such. This was a common problem in the era before the 'net, when company's marketing material was often presented in text-only formats. I believe the article is incorrectly named. I am not going to edit the article as I am subject of it, but I was not managing VisiCalc's development as the article states. I was the Product Manager for VisiCalc (but not the flagship Apple II version). Personal Software was the publisher, not the developer of VisiCalc. My role as Product Manager was to co-ordinate and be a liaison. Also, it is only in hindsight that my departure from Personal Software was catastrophic. At the time, my departure was regarded as an asset to the company. Mkapor 04:49, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heck, we pray for first hand experience! I'd be happy to do these edits for you, but I don't think anyone would ever complain if you did it yourself -- I know I wouldn't. BTW, I think the prohibition on editing articles "about yourself" generally means biographical ones, not products you worked on, managed, etc. Maury 12:50, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

VisiOn vs Visi On[edit]

Google showed a slight preference for "VisiOn" over "Visi On" in the result count (800+ vs 700+) when I searched on: 1) visicorp vision and 2) visicorp "visi on". I've renamed the article to reflect this (and to make the article name match the VisiOn spelling used in the article body. --Zippy 00:18, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In this case, it's best not to go with the overall results of a Google search comparison. The best resource for Visi On on the greater Web is at this site. The spelling is clearly "Visi On" as shown in screenshots and photos of the program's documentation. Bumm13 23:01, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the Visi On spelling is used at this site, which is another fairly-definitive resource on the matter. The page's Articles section links also favor the Visi On spelling (and are referring to contemporary print resources of that time period). Bumm13 23:07, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So, again, finally renamed as such ;-) --LimoWreck (talk) 19:28, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

1.01 clarification[edit]

Recently mentions and a diskette picture of Visi On 1.0(1) were found. Apparently you need this or later release to run Visi On Plan 1.2 which was recently uploaded on WinWorld. The release is unleaked as of May 18th, 2020 so I can't put the release date here.
