Needless to say, the lake is Virginia Water; there is also a small village which takes its name from Virginia Water: it is either Virginia Water (village) or Virginia Water village. "Virginia Water Lake" is the solecism of someone not quite familiar with Virginia Water.--Wetman (talk) 18:28, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ruins?[edit]

I have a 1928 guidebook to London (publisher Ward Lock), whose final chapter 'Trips from Town' gives special mention of ruins by the lake, 'genuine antiquities' which were imported and re-erected here in 1825, shown in one of the book's photo pages (they appear to be Greek or Roman). No mention in this article - are the ruins still standing?Cloptonson (talk) 06:49, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good point, they are mentioned in the article on Windsor Great Park so I’ve copied that section across as an interim solution. Murgatroyd49 (talk) 08:52, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
