"became the most famous English-language editorial ever written"[edit]

Is it Wikipedia policy to put such subjective statements as fact in lead sections? What is the empirical data that makes this the "most famous", in a way that a blue whale is the largest animal or Venus is the hottest planet? I am from the UK - you know, a place that speaks English - and I have never heard of this editorial. America Is Not the World and it most certainly is not the English language.
