Edit between header and footer markup[edit]

The Infobox markup was placed above the page markup header, placing the draft banner lower on the page. Do not add markup above this header. I have moved the relevant header to the top of the page. Limelightangel (talk) 21:50, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

General discussions[edit]

Check if all the images are free of copyright, because while trying to add rhe first jpg_01 it highlights it in red for me, and I don't know which could be the problem.

Referencing[edit]

References 2, 3 and 4 are incorrectly formatted. Use the help resources and Cite templates to add correctly formatted references once the relevant text has been added. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Referencing_for_beginners Limelightangel (talk) 21:53, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reference 2 has been corrected. Could you please confirm me if it is correct or if it is still wrongly formatted? Thank you! DT08GIULIAM (talk) 20:08, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling/Grammar[edit]

  • How can it have been 'built in the end of the 800th Century'?

Limelightangel (talk) 21:55, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Has been corrected, thank you DT08NICOLODC (talk) 15:39, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Check tense e.g. 'Mussolini will be liberated'

Limelightangel (talk) 15:06, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • There are 5 errors in the following text: "converted into temporary place of imprisonment for Benito Mussolini, the newly ex-dictator of Italy. The permanence of Mussolini in Villa Weber lasted twenty days, from the 7th to the 27th of August of 1943."Limelightangel (talk) 15:08, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • correct 'having a moorish style,' Limelightangel (talk) 15:09, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I have modified the sentence. Now, it should be correct. DT08GIULIAM (talk) 20:10, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Structure[edit]

Location[edit]

It is inappropriate to include the location under 'Architectural Style'. It belongs in the lead summary or section on Location. Limelightangel (talk) 15:34, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lead Section[edit]

Pages do not have a section header for 'Introduction'. It needs to be created first, not least to avoid duplication of facts and links later in the article. The summary introduction or 'lead section' is explained at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Lead_section Limelightangel (talk) 15:36, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

Needs chronological subsections and relevant content placed correctly: 'which had been inhabited by the Webber family until 1928,' belongs in a subsection on the period before Mussolini's stay. Limelightangel (talk) 15:18, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A section on "The Lost Library" of Villa Webber can be addedDT08GIULIAM (talk) 15:44, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would be a great idea. DT08CHIARAM (talk) 15:46, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Image Captions[edit]

Image captions need editing to make it clear what they are, including Villa Webber. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Captions Limelightangel (talk) 14:19, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox[edit]

The building Infobox is correct but it needs to be used correctly and the errors fixed. See Template:Infobox_building Limelightangel (talk) 15:15, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I got a problem with the Info Box, beacuse it seems that information like the "Surface" are not evident in the page, even if I edited in "source editing" and added the data. DT08LEONARDOC (talk) 17:15, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

At its current size, there are really too many images, which is why the page's layout is inelegant. There are two solutions and I suggest both: a. remove some of the images and keep only the ones that help the text become more understandable. Is a floor pattern picture necessary? Is the pattern special? And is that verified and in the text? b. some guidelines are found in WP:GALLERY; to make a gallery, see Help:Gallery_tag#Syntax--the first (simple) example is probably good enough for here. Good luck, Drmies (talk) 17:22, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for once again helping with these Educational Projects! Limelightangel (talk) 11:51, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Review 4/12/23[edit]

  1. note the useful comments on images from user Drmies. You may wish to retain some of these if you can support its relevance to the topic. A gallery is a good idea. Be clear which images go with relevant text and which go in the gallery. Consider consistent structure and image placement e.h. left/right justification, etc.
  2. require better and clearer captions, including clarity of where/what the images are;
  3. develop better 'proximity' and relevance to the associated text e.g. 'the tower' could be relevant positioned with the architecture section, IF the tower is mentioned in this section; similarly, a couple of the images do show the Moorish style, and could be associated with the Architecture section on this; the image on 'outdoor space' shows the current state of the building and could be used in the relevant section on current status if captioned better; etc.
  4. 'Roof and view' is duplicated
  5. too many images of similar type e,g. 2 of the stairs
  6. can you source an acceptable image of Mussolini at the villa? Check Google images. There are images of Mussolini at Maddalena and historic images of the villa, which you could contact copyright holders for the appropriate permissions.
  • style: 'but then'; 'In fact';
  • grammar: 'This bookshop'
  • links out: you use two links out for the location. The first has text for 'the island of Maddalena', but links to the Maddalena archipeligo; the second has identical text but links to the actual island. The second link out is inconsistently underlined. Differentiate and make consistent the use of these two relevant links.
  • check the conventions in MOS on when to use bold text. See: Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Text_formatting
  • duplicate content:'another Englishman, James Phillips Webber,'; 'James Phillipps Webber, an Englishman,'; 'Webber lived in La Maddalena for 25 years until his death.'; 'lived on La Maddalena for about 25 years,'; etc.
  • structure and chronological sequence: the content on the Webber family pre-dates the earlier section on history; it is also arguably not part of the buildings history section, and/or an earlier section on origins - The Webber Family, or similar.
  • there are inconsistencies in the way sub-sections in the History section have been titled: some are time periods, others text (e.g. Webber's family). These could be made more consistent in format.
  • the sub-section header 'From 7 to 27 August 1943 could be checked for date format and incorporate the significance of this short period in the header.
  • it could be clearer how Mussolini came to leave after his imprisonment
  • there is only 2 sentences on the period from 1945 - present.
  • the Lost Library section duplicates content related to the origins of the villa; this section could be better as a sub-section in the early History section 1857 - 1943, and be internally reorganized chronologically i.e. Webber's shipwreck etc. goes with the first history section; the lost library can be a sub-section in this history section; the lost library section stars with Webbers creation of an art gellery and library, then includes its role in the Grand tour and visit by Daniel Roberts. Why was it called the lost library?
  • links out: Moorish style can link out to Moorish Revival architecture
  • consistency: 'The Villa'; 'the villa'; La Maddelena and La Maddelena
  • overlinking: Australia
  • check conventions and format for 'metres cubed' and consider incorporating translation to imperial units. See: Help:Convert_units
  • the page needs the addition of correct See Also, External links and Categories. See:
  1. Help:Categories
  2. Wikipedia:External_links
  3. Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Layout#"See_also"_section
  • References:
  1. ref. 1 & 3 and 8 & 8 are duplicated and need the use of ref name to resolve (as used in ref. 1);
  2. ref. 2 and 9 are incorrect and needs correct format for web sources, including title, publisher, date, author and date accessed;
  3. ref. 6 has inconsistent UPPER CASE;
  4. ref. 10 has an incorrect author (it's Linda Lappin)
  5. multiple web references have no dates accessed
  6. multiple refs. have no clear designation that they are in Italian

Review 11/12/23[edit]

  • no Categories
  • no Exeternal links
  • multiple errors in red in Gallery
  • bibliography with no translation of Italian titles
  • inconsistencies in referencing formats e.g. upper case title, etc.
  • other referencing issues e.g. 'Retrieved 27 January 2015.'; missing authors; missing 'date retreived', missing publishers (websites), missing designation as in non-English languages, etc.
  • given the large number of books on Mussolini in both english and Italian it is surprising that more books have not been identified and used for Villa Webber. These include books in English on: Hitler and Skorzenys plans to rescue Mussolini from the Villa; an eye-witness visit to the villa in 1943; a report of how often he left the villa, and with whom; how he finally left the villa (by sea-plane); who he arrived with at the villa; who flew him to the villa and in what; and a useful quote related to someone on the island; etc.
  • contradictory content: 'built on the highest point of the archipelago by James Philipps Webber between 1853 and 1857'; 'The villa, initially the country house of Baron Des Geneys, was built in the early 1800s'
  • that Webber originally came to the island as a result of being shipwrecked and 'During this period, on the cliffs facing Corsica, he built what is now known as Villa Webber' is under the library section, not the origins of the villa
  • The Library section is poor and needs reconsideration and re-writing to remove irrelevant and duplicate text, and to structure better: that Roberts visited the library needs to come after the creation and description of the library, etc.
  • 'Webber lived in La Maddalena for 25 years until his death' - when did he die?
  • duplicate content and incorrect grammar: 'This bookshop was built by James Webber, who was a wealthy 19th century Englishman. ; 'During this period, on the cliffs facing Corsica, he built what is now known as Villa Webber.'; 'built on the highest point of the archipelago by James Philipps Webber '; 'James Phillipps Webber was a very wealthy person '; etc.
  • 'Mussolini leaves the Villa' has no sources and limited information, despite good english sources for this event
  • structure: Webber family needs to come earlier with building's origins (sub-section); the burning of the villa is an historical event (sub-section in History)
  • the large block of text on the burning needs rewriting and formatting, and is too long in relation to the page topic
  • 'The Villa was initially built as a fortress, surrounded by walls of thick stone, of which some reached 7 meters in height.' belongs in History, not Architecture
  • check format for numbers: 'a total area of 80 000 metres cubed, of which 55 000 consisted of rooms and living areas and the remaining 25 000 metres cubed
  • image of cornice belongs in Architecture, not fire
  • multiple and repetitive grammar issues: 'Phillipps '; 'father - Frederick - remained'; 'several deponents were questioned'; 'mocked in front of the entire island's public opinion'; 'the Natale's son, '; 'Mussolini would only have access to pencils in the Villa, and few grammar errors, which the Duce wouldn't commit, being a teacher and journalist.'; 'a large quantity of policemen.'; 'A relevant attempt of this was only disproved of in 1999'; 'Mussolini's helth condition worsened and was taken away from the island by a first aid plane.; 'From 1943 on'; 'villa Webber'; etc.
  • image captions need better captions e.g. 'Villa Webber (La Maddalena): A portrait of James Phillips Webber'; 'Villa Webber (La Maddalena):Cornice on the left side;' etc.
  • duplicate and incorrectly placed link out to Italy
  • it is unclear why it is the 'lost library'
  • inconsistent date formats: '27th of August 1943'; 'May 10, 1935'; etc.
  • despite being listed in the bibliography, Hitler's raid to Save Mussolini is unmentioned in the text
  • repetitive issues with style: 'furthermore'; 'in fact'; 'people were really fascinated by the villa, in fact everyone who passed by, stopped to visit it.'etc.
  • multiple missing links in
  • inappropriate and duplicate content in lead section: 'In the late 1920s, Villa Webber was abandoned.'
