99.118.246.14 raised concern that the following quote may be misattributed:

"We take English for granted but if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square, and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig. There is no egg in eggplant, no ham in hamburger, no apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren’t invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads which aren’t sweet, are meat.”

The ref link is dead, so I quickly Googled it and am also unconvinced. Does anyone have an opinion on it? Zujua (talk) 04:06, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Manson Murders[edit]

Seems unlikely that 'Lownes was out partying with Roman Polanski when Sharon Tate was murdered by the Manson family in August 1969', given that it would have been around 9.30am in London when she was murdered? There's no source, just seems gossippy. Little grape (talk) Little grape (talk) 22:27, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
