Father and bride's mother[edit]

There is some reason to think that Lytton's father and his bride's mother had at one time been lovers, which, if it could be confirmed, might be worth mentioning in the article. They were both dead by the time of the second Earl's wedding in 1902, which might otherwise have produced a very interesting encounter. See David Gilmour's The Ruling Caste, 2006.
