Moctezuma[edit]

For whatever it's worth, the site linked by Felixkunc does show descent from Moctezuma:

  • Motecuhzoma II Xocoyotzin
  • Doña Isabel de Moctezuma, Miahuaxochitzin Tecuichpochtzin
  • Juan Cano de Moctezuma (1536–1579)
  • Juan Cano de Moctezuma (1559–1608)
  • Juan Cano de Moctezuma (1587–1646)
  • Mariana Cano de Moctezuma
  • Doña Maria de Vivero y Moctezuma, Señora de Encinillas
  • Don Bernardino de Carvajal y Sanda de Vivero e Moctezuma 2.Conde de la Enjarada
  • Don Juan Antonio de Carvajal y de Láncaster, 4.Duque de Abrantes
  • Don Manuel Bernardino Antonio de Carvajal y Zuñiga Láncaster y Noroña Ramirez de Arellano, 5.Duque de Abrantes
  • Don Angel Agustin Miguel de Carvajal y de Gonzaga, 6.Duque de Abrantes
  • Don Angel Maria de Carvajal y Fernández de Córdova, 8.Duque de Abrantes
  • Don Angel Maria de Carvajal y Téllez-Girón, 9.Duque de Abrantes
  • Doña Angela de Carvajal y Jiménez de Molina (whose husband was descended at least twice from Hernándo Cortés)

Well, I have to say, you're right! I also checked it on GeneAll: Tecuichpotzin Xocoyotzin (Doña Isabel de Moctezuma). Don Vicente seems to be indeed a descendant of Moctezuma II, via Juan Moctezuma, a grandson of Isabel Moctezuma. See below a picture of the family tree from Moctezuma II upto Juan Moctezuma:

If you want you can include the text again, but with a short description of the line of descendants and only with reliable and checkable sources as proof.

The question is however: what is it worth? Since the inheritance is through a paternal line as well a maternal line. In this way probably a lot of Latino people or hispanics are descendants of Moctezuma II. It's a genealogical joke that the half of Europe is in this way a descendant of the many grandchildren of Emperor Charlemagne. In fact, in the end all people on earth are (of course) genetically descendants of each other. The next question is thus, is Don Vicente a descendant of the main line of heirs? Mr. D. E. Mophon (talk) 10:26, 15 April 2011 (UTC) P.S.: there is a vibrant community of internet claiming to be a descendant of Moctezuma…[reply]

I guess the main line of heirs, to the extent that such a phrase has meaning, would be the dukes of Moctezuma. —Tamfang (talk) 17:08, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
