Blatant advertising[edit]

Isn't it?

Yes, but unless somebody not from Vertica is willing to actually fix it... also, what is the formal company name? I see Vertica Systems, HP Vertica... Jacotto (talk) 16:57, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. I think the article should be flagged as potentially inappropriate content, or at least inappropriate content style. Anyone remember how to put a tag on the main page for that? Chafe66 (talk) 23:19, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

And also needs to be changed to mostly past tense, since it is no longer a separate company, eaten by HP and then split into HPE etc. W Nowicki (talk) 22:35, 17 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Versions and documentation[edit]

What is the purpose of the "Versions and documentation" section, which just lists the names of each version and a reference proving that the version exists? This appears to me to be clearly unencyclopedic and I propose deleting that section, unless someone is willing to expand it to provide some utility. "Six by nine. Forty two." Agreed. What might be useful is a chronology of the introduction of major features, but not just a raw listing of all versions.

Advertising[edit]

@Mean as custard: I've tried to tone down the marketing talk in this article and stick to facts. I did this at the request of a contact at Vertica who was distressed by the Advert banner, but I have no other affiliation with Vertica, and was not compensated in any way for my edits. I'd appreciate it if you'd review the article and see if you think it still warrants an Advert banner. --Macrakis (talk) 23:11, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
