Inclusion of previous nationalities/place of birth in lead against Wikipedia biography rules[edit]
MOS:Ethnicity states specifically against inclusion of phrases such as "Indian-born" in the lead, and specifies that the nationality to be stated in the lead is the one under which the individual gains notability. He may have won an award in his birth country, but is notable for his achievements as a United States citizen, not Indian. Therefore it does not make sense that the phrase "Indian" or "Indian-born" be included in the lead, and that too, before his actual nationality under which he obtained notability. He was born in India was raised and educated in India, i.e., spent a significant part of his life there and civilian awards are notable especially considering his birth/education in this case. None of this violates the guideline. Gotitbro (talk) 02:14, 21 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
