Question concerning the nature of its publication[edit]

While it was published by Softalk magazine, it was not a part of the magazine per se ie., it was published as software on a 5.25" floppy disk. KevinOKeeffe (talk) 05:52, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While I'm not 100% certain about this (which is why it doesn't appear in the article), I do believe that the author of "Valley of the Minotaur" was a man who won a Softalk magazine contest, the prize for which was to have the magazine publish his game. I know it was availabe commercially, as I purchased it at a computer store in Cupertino, California for $24.95 in January of 1984. KevinOKeeffe (talk) 06:11, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Believe it or not, I am the author of the game! I am sure it was buggy since I was in 7th grade when I wrote the thing. But it was pretty fanciful for the time. I do recall laughing hysterically with the guy that helped me write the prose because we came up with this underground sewage treatment facility and this one poor gnome was forced to do hard time working the sewage pumps. Completely juvenile humor but then again, we were 13. :)

Tickled pink that 25 years later it actually survives, albeit in obscurity, here on Wikipedia. :)

The name of this article is unfortunately incorrect[edit]

Is anyone aware of a method by which one may change the name of an article? I made a slight mistake when I started this article, as the name of the game was "Valley of the Minotaur," ie., there is no "The" included in the title. KevinOKeeffe (talk) 05:59, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"the designer"[edit]

I don't believe "Nick Vandyk" is the same person as Nicolas van Dyk. Mr. Vandyk's online profile states he is 52 years old, yet Nicolas van Dyk was 13 when he wrote Valley of the Minotaur. That would make him approximately 41, not 52. KevinOKeeffe (talk) 10:40, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
