misleading lead-in paragraph[edit]

VF-101 and VFA-101 are not the same squadron[edit]

VFA-101 needs a separate page as the unit borrowed the name, insignia and traditions of the disestablished VF-101. According to the US Navy, disestablished or decommissioned units do not get reactivated. They are a separate entity. It's like naming your son, John Wayne or your daughter Ginger Rogers. They may talk, move and dress up like them, but they are NOT them, despite the name.
