Off-the-Air[edit]

On May 1, 2006, an anonymous editor stated that UATV would suspend operations indefinitely while seeking a new satellite services provider. However, there is no mention of this fairly major development on the company's web site, nor could I find any press releases announcing same. There are still many affiliate stations happily announcing their affiliation with UATV, and the network's web site is still posting current schedules. While it is true that the company has been suffering financial difficulties (their stock is trading for pennies per share), and that they have lost several affiliates to America One (such as WUHQ-LP), there is no indication that they have totally ceased operations. -- AlexDW 13:40, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, UATV's latest SEC filings show that they have indeed ceased operations. They have also fired their accounting team, laid of much of their technical staff, and have attempted to sell of their rather massive coal reserves (over $4 million). This would explain all of the affiliation switches that have happened recently. I do not know why they haven't updated their web site... wishful thinking? My only guess is that they are still feeding programming to stations in their local area, but that is a far cry from their previous standing. AlexDW 14:10, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:UATV logo.gif[edit]

Image:UATV logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:40, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An editor reminder regarding URBT TV...[edit]

Any mention outside of what is currently contained in this article about the current network URBT TV, which currently has only a scattered low-power distribution within the Mississippi Valley states, a schedule made up of brokered and paid programming (for instance, an 'urban network' will not have the nerve, like this network, to call the 20 year-old Canadian drama series Cold Squad which has its Afro-Canadian or African-American cast mainly represented by guest criminal characters, 'urban programming'), will be removed without well-written and neutral sources about that network, which should not violate WP:NOTPROMO. At this point I continue to believe that URBT TV, outside a few small assets and a few employees, is not a continuation of UATV, especially with six years between UATV's end and the launch of URBT TV under Punch TV. Any new articles about URBT TV should be drafted in Draft:URBT TV, not here.

We also don't care about the stock price (outside the mention of its small cost), and it should not be promoted here. Nate (chatter) 01:13, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
