Question on source of Artistic cookery[edit]

I am missing information on what the source is of the English translations. Artistic cookery is from 1870, but Cuisine artistique from 1872. Does this mean that Dubois wrote this originally in English and that is was later translated into French? Cmuusers (talk) 12:23, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know the French source of Artistic cookery (1870). I'm pretty sure that Urbain Dubois wouldn't have been able to write in English. The content must have been translated (by an anonymous translator) from one or more of his numerous French publication (without the word Artistic in the title).
