Preliminary translation attempted[edit]

I have attempted a preliminary translation. My Finnish isn't very good so I may have gotten the wrong end of the stick. However, rather than write something when I didn't understand the original, I have simply left blanks.

Thanks. Twenex 03:50, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some other ways are, for instance, the one that we used when translating the Xueta article from Catalan was leaving the part in the sentence in the source language and putting it in italics so that if someone came along who understood it, they could translate it. In the Haapamäki railway station article, I've hidden the stuff that I haven't gotten around to translating or have only half translated as I'm not working with anyone to translate it. Thanks for the translation by the way! -Yupik 20:21, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Helsinki July 2013-14.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on March 15, 2015. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2015-03-15. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Thanks! — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:24, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Palm House, University of Helsinki Botanical Garden
The Palm House, built in the University of Helsinki Botanical Garden in 1889 to house tropical plants. It has since been refurbished several times, most recently between 1996 and 1998. The greenhouse is home to more than 800 different species of plants, and the garden grounds to more than 2,800 plants of different origins.Photograph: Alvesgaspar
