Uni of Ballarat[edit]

Finally something I know about that is almost virgin. Bihal 14:13, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

political content[edit]

The politically based content of the latter part of this entry seems to be not appropriate for an encyclopedic entry. What do other Wikipedia contributors think ?none 03:58, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't agree more with you here Geoff...can you believe what people around the world would be thinking when they want to look up info' about this 'young' university that is struggling to resolve a HR issue...and here it is inside an encyclo! Big deal!!--Jaker5 15:21, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Revision[edit]

I have modified the History section to make it more impersonal in tone. Colin Ryan (talk) 07:25, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

removed next statement from lead[edit]

I have removed the following statement. Encyclopaedic articles shouldn't be running unsubstantiated rumours in an encyclopaedic article, especially not in the lead. ("my giddy aunt" is possibly a suitable exclamation)billinghurst sDrewth 02:27, 31 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ballarat University is curently in the process of joining forces with Monash University Gippland campus to form a new regional university. <ref name="Ballarat University to join Monash University Gippsland">[http://www.gippslandtimes.com.au/story/1370813/backward-step-for-gippsland-university/ | Ballarat University to join Monash University Gippsland]</ref>. Rumor has it that the new regionally expanded university will have a new name, with the former Prime Minister of Australia Sir Robert Menzies being mooted as a possible brand for the new university to be called Menzies University. It is expected the new regional university will begin operations in 2014, meaning the brand University of Ballarat will come to an end, and people doing study at gippsland will not become graduates of Monash University. <ref name="End of University of Ballarat">[http://www.theaustralian.com.au/higher-education/ballarat-and-monash-universities-are-not-thinking-merger-or-takeover/story-e6frgcjx-1226586317368 | End of University of Ballarat and Monash University Gippsland]</ref>

Draft and redirect[edit]

There is a draft of an article at Draft:Ballarat University, but it needs work.

The school merged into Monash University and is mentioned there, so that's where the article currently is directed to.--CaroleHenson (talk) 02:39, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well, this was worked on in draft mode and then copied over here. I've worked on it some more since then to get citations in it - square away some of the info. Now, we need to get the information from the draft version merged in with this version. I think it's an administrative request.--CaroleHenson (talk) 19:30, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent, Anthony Appleyard! Thank you for tackling this and the original move request that I tagged on to! I know it was messy with the history merge and greatly appreciate your help!--CaroleHenson (talk) 00:16, 27 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
