Shouldn't she be listed as Livermore-class? I know, the Gleaves-class page explains about "lead ship" (which I knew...), but not why Lenton & Fitzsimons list Gleaves & Niblack as Bensons, & Livermore as class ship... Trekphiler 00:21, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to some sources, the NIBLACK's clash with a U-boat in April 1941 was a false alarm -- postwar examination of German records showed there was no U-boat in the area. Anyone have details or elaboration? MrG 67.40.36.251 (talk) 18:55, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

USS Niblack[edit]

In 1972 I was stationed at NAS Quonset Point. Adjoining the Air Station was CBC Davisville with a drydock tied up to the pier there. It was there for training and the hull used was that of the Niblack. My CO LTCMDR. David Murpy confirmed the id of the ship being used in the dock. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.43.65.245 (talk) 16:28, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
