Why were they called Boxer? --AW 18:25, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The British name HMS Boxer was named after the competitor in a boxing match. For USS Boxer, the name may have the same origin. Just my guess. LanceBarber 07:18, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

4th Boxer[edit]

The fourth Boxer sponsored by "Mrs. J. H. Tomb" was not cited and was replaced with Mrs. Drury, with citation. LanceBarber 08:28, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
