Bussing[edit]

On 24 April 1988, Bonefish was submerged 160 miles off the coast of Florida, exercising with the guided missile frigate Carr. Seawater began leaking directly onto cables and bussing in a battery supply cableway.

What is "bussing" ?

- the main electrical conduits

- Bussing or busswork are the flat 1/8" to 1/4" thick by 2" to 6" wide pieces of (often) silver plated copper bar that carry high electrical currents in switchboards or in this case between the cells of the sub's battery bank.

Speed[edit]

she was twice as fast submerged as on the surface? a diesel-electric? and only capable of 12 knots on the surface? seems rather unlikely.Toyokuni3 (talk) 01:43, 26 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
