Atlanta was a cruiser, not a destroyer[edit]

The Atlanta had the gun firepower of three destroyers with 5 inch guns. Some destroyers had 4 inch guns. Any surface ship a 6 inch gun would have effective against, the 5 inch gun would have also been effective. A destroyer didn't have armor. Atlanta had armor. The Atlanta weighed 3 times more than a destroyer at full load.Azeh (talk) 00:18, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Battleship Hiei involvement[edit]

The Wikipedia pages Naval_Battle_of_Guadalcanal and Japanese_battleship_Hiei mentioned that Hiei fired at hit Atlanta, killing Norman Scott. This page, along with the Norman Scott page, claim it was the USS_San_Francisco_(CA-38) with no mention of the Hiei. Both events appear to be well referenced.
