"Egg" link[edit]

Shouldn't the Egg link in "APACS members" link to the "Egg Banking plc" not the generic Egg page ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.228.251.10 (talk) 14:09, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chip card work statement[edit]

The statement on chip card work by APACS "APACS pioneered the development of credit cards containing a computer chip. The early APACS work proved the viability of 'chip cards', and helped in the creation of the common EMV (Europay, Mastercard, VISA) standards for such cards" blatantly ignores the fact chip cards had been in use for a much longer time in other countries, particularly in France where they are in use since the 1980s... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jcaron (talkcontribs) 16:00, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes - this is an overblown claim. I deleted it. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 13:17, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed[edit]

I am not sure entiely how this works, but this article is incorrect. UK Payments is not an APACS replacement. It replaces the Administration company, APACS Administration Limited. It is not a trade association nor is it a membership organisation, nor does it own the stanadrds referenced. The standards in the main are now managed by The UK Cards Association. All the correct information is in the UK Payments web site. Suggest this article is flagged for revision. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.130.61.82 (talk) 15:56, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Changes required please![edit]

This article is factually inaccurate and it would be great if it could be corrected. It seems to be mixing up UK Payments Administration (http://www.ukpayments.org.uk) and Payments UK (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Payments_UK).

UK Payments Administration is actually a shared service provider that supports a number of payment schemes and trade associations which make up the payments industry in the UK. Isn't, as the article states "a trade organisation" nor is it responsible for the standards mentioned.

Please see some suggested wording you may consider using instead:

UK Payments Administration Ltd is the service company providing people, facilities and expertise to the UK payments industry.

It has managed the development and launches of major innovations in payments, such as chip and PIN and Faster Payments.

The brands it supports manage the systems behind UK payments, and every year these systems process payments nearly four times the value of the world economy. Shanemckenna7 (talk) 15:16, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
