Opening comment

I plan on doing some serious work to this page, I was an employee of the Turning Stone (and it's mother company) for 10yrs and my father worked as a site manager for the company that has done all of the casino's construction.

June 22, 2008 edits

Apparently, there is a person going by Ellipses Man and Ellipses legal getting into a pissing match with Ground Zero on the Oneida Indian Nation page. In hopes of stopping this childish bickering, I'm marshaling a compromise on the ellipses. If I see another edit by either over these stupid ellipses, I will petition that all pages relating to the OIN, the Turning Stone Casino, UCE be locked from editing.

Also, rather than going through this page's Criticism section and individually harmonizing the various changes made on the OIN page with this page, I merely copied and pasted the OIN page. If anyone has a problem with that, feel free to discuss it here and let me know where I went wrong so that I do not make the same mistakes again. Neutralman1024 (talk) 15:44, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

I think the ellipses edit war need to end as well, perhaps something less drastic than a block of the pages like a time-out for the battling parties.

On the issue of overlap on the three pages I have no problem with what you did. Perhaps we should look to eliminate the overlap. May I suggest that the issues ralating to the land in trust be placed on the OIN page and have a reference on the Turning Stone to it. The issues of the compact be on the Turning Stone page with a reference to it on the OIN page and then just references on the UCE page to the Turning Stone and OIN page?--Dtwarren (talk) 15:54, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Neutralman: please review WP:CIVIL. Calling other editors "childish" is unnecessary. You should note that the other editor has been making contributions to the content of the article, and have have been cleaning up the style, formatting and spelling while this has been going on. I too think that an edit war over ellipses is ridiculous, but I have been unable to convince this guy to accept the Wikipedia Manual of Style for Wikipedia articles.

As far as your 'compromise', I am unclear why anything other than the Wikipedia style would be use, but will accept your proposal to bring this to end. And I thank you for intervening to try to bring about a resolution. Ground Zero | t 17:13, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Wow, I disappear for a few days and I see a huge battle over ellipses. Ground Zero, you can object all you would like. From the history logs, I would expect from my 5-yr old daughter the behavior you and ellipses man/legal demonstrated here. I suggest that if you prefer people not to call it as they see it, you exercise better discretion in your judgments on how best to resolve a dispute. Alcohol License Applications

NY state has approved the resort's liquor license. During my last visit in October, I did see bars stocked with beer, wine, and liquor. Liquor at turning stone

When Turning Stone was first attempting to open a casino, one of the conditions of the elder members of the tribe was no alcohol served. The younger members agreed to this so they could move the project along. Why is this fact not listed. I remember reading about it before the casino was built, but cannot find any articles referencing this fact. Land, sovereignty, gaming issues

The litigation on land, sovereignty, gaming, etc. are the responsibility of the Oneida Indian Nation, not the casino. All that discussion belongs in the OIN article, so that it can be treated thoroughly and kept updated in one place. Only issues that affect the operations of the Resort should be included here. Needs sourced facts about economics of resort

What is lacking here and is needed are numbers about employees, # of visitors, revenues generated, economic impact in the Syracuse metropolitan area, and similar facts. These should be sourced and cited.Parkwells (talk) 13:39, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
