Untitled[edit]

While this is a "non notable" river it does have several interesting features and a long hisory and needs documenting. I shall be expanding this page in the near future when I have gathered some photographic evidence.

Also, in an exhaustive encyclopedia such as this will become in the future even non-notable features and subjects should be included.

This is in responce to the deletion of this entry due to the river not being notable Feb 2007

Turkey Brook[edit]

As a child growing up in the area, I was always told that this 'brook' was the water where Sir Walter Riley layed his cloak down for the then Queen. Exact location being Maidens Bridge. True or Not?

I attended Forty Hill School from 1979 to 1985 which is right next to Maidens Bridge. The story of Sir Walter Rayleigh was often mentioned in history lessons. Elsynge House stood in the grounds of Forty Hall and was used by The Tudor Kings and Queens.
