Google's trademark application[edit]

Interestingly, Google has an application for a trademark on TrustRank. They applied for it on 2005-03-22 and the application has since been extended three times, which seems rather unusual given that they have not actually used it. GreenReaper (talk) 18:39, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

~ I undid your removal of the "untrusted source". I just watched the video, and as an SEOmozer, I can assure you it is based on research by Stanford and MIT, as well as statements made by Matt Cutts @ Google. It is certainly reliable information. Why it's unreliable? Well, for one thing it talks much about Google, and I don't recall that Google ever disclosed that they use TrustRank algorithm as defined in 2004 yahoo's paper (about which this article is supposed to be about). That's just rumours. Can you give a reference about Matt Cutts saying that they use TrustRank? -- X7q (talk) 21:31, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And then there's a more formal reason: it's a blog post, which is considered self-published content, and is thus discouraged by WP:Verifiability. -- X7q (talk) 21:38, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
