Meaning of the video[edit]

I removed the following phrase from the article because it seems to be an unjustified claim:

with imagery that may be seen as depicting the fight to get off an addictive substance

The video consists of a bunch of people in colorful costumes slapping each other, running around, bouncing up and down on trampolines, repeating the lyrics of the song in sign language and attempting to balance differently-shaped blocks on top of each other. It doesn't appear to validate this theory. — Hex (❝?!❞) 16:16, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So how does video have anything to do with the song? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.188.204.2 (talk) 20:08, 27 March 2007‎
A video doesn't have to. — Hex (❝?!❞) 09:22, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Two versions of the video..[edit]

Does anyone know more about this?

From what I gather, theres one version which you'd probably find on youtube etc.. and another one which is slightly different with regards to editing. From what I remember, you see Stephen Morris drumming about halfway through the video instead of towards the end.

I'm sure I saw it on yahoo music a few years ago.

I'll put more on here when I find out more. Tommyhaych 01:50, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reference for supposed meaning of lyrics[edit]

Doesn't the claimed meaning of the lyrics need a better reference than Songfacts.com? DeSales 01:57, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it does. It needs something like an interview with a band member. Cop 663 14:57, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Covers[edit]

As long as there is a section on covers, why not include flunk's? http://www.pandora.com/music/song/flunk/true+faith+live -- thefifthsetpin —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thefifthsetpin (talkcontribs) 17:47, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some Thoughts[edit]

The line about the words in the title not appearing in the song is incorrect. While the 'entire' title does not appear in a contiguous fashion, the word Faith appears in the Chorus.

Also, another remix/cover to add to the list would be Tru Faith by Rocko Ministry (2006?) 99.233.228.7 (talk) 13:48, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Where in the chorus does "Faith" appear? --Dominic Hardstaff (talk) 14:03, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The word 'faith' does not appear in any part of the lyrics.

Canadian Psycho[edit]

No references to American Psycho/Luka Magnotta? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.45.29.139 (talk) 07:26, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

American Psycho is the only subject that may be relevant to mention in the article, the other one .... why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.180.102.23 (talk) 19:07, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because the song plays in the background during the "1 Lunatic 1 Icepick" video. Magnotta was clearly influenced by American Psycho to commit his crime. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.104.0.221 (talk) 02:39, 7 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bright Lights, Big City[edit]

Hello, to whoever handles the editing of this song's wiki page, could you add a reference that the song was featured on the soundtrack to the 1988 Michael J. Fox film, "Bright Lights, Big City"? Thanks, -TC — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.128.192.31 (talk) 22:14, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

1 Lunatic, 1 Ice pick[edit]

Why no mention of the video? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.252.4.113 (talk) 11:21, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because it was unauthorized use of the song as the soundtrack to a homemade video. That's not relevant to the article about the song. DS (talk) 16:00, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

George Michael[edit]

I'm guessing the addition of this bar at the end of the article is vandalism — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.75.251.224 (talk) 20:12, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Murderers[edit]

On more than one occasion, various individuals have tried to add, to this article, the fact that a murderer used this song as the soundtrack to an amateur video of himself committing a murder. This is true, but it is not relevant to our article about the song, no more than the fact that the murder video contained a poster advertising the film Casablanca should be mentioned in the article about the film Casablanca.

As an analogy, consider the article about murderer Russell Williams. Before he was revealed to be a murderer, Williams' role in the military led him to pilot the airplane which carried the Queen and her husband on their visits to Canada. This is a valid fact to mention in the article on Williams. However, it would be inappropriate to mention in the articles on the Queen and her husband that they had (while in Canada) been passengers on a plane whose pilot was murderer Russell Williams. DS (talk) 00:18, 17 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I spoke to DS about this, and agree with the above. The fact that True Faith was used as a soundtrack to a murder is of interest and is relevant in our coverage of the actual murder, but not in an article about the song. This is, fundamentally, one of the biggest challenges on Wikipedia - making sure good content is in the correct article, not just on the project in general. George Michael version[edit]

Unlike all the other covers, this was a hit. Do we have material to write up a section for it? - David Gerard (talk) 17:06, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
