I think this novel is an interesting failure, he has some interesting ideas but ultimately tinkers with them. It is somewhere below The Kraken Wakes, the weakest of his "big 4" novels but a flawed success. His attitudes to women were contradictory, but he deals with them better in Consider Her Ways. Quote?[edit]

It seems to be a bit random to have a quote given with no context, nor (as far as I know) any great currency as a quotation in its own right; it seems even more questionable for inclusion here, when it has been amended with no indication of the amendments made - I understand that in quotations words are added to include a verb or a proper name or prononun, so that the quoted passage will read in its own right, but they are usually placed in square brackets, so the reader knows what has been added. 109.154.149.154 (talk) 16:29, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Real drug trial section irrelevant?[edit]

Is the item about a real drug, which may never work in humans, relevant or detract from the article? Should be just a link to another article specific to various items about ageing. Like ends of DNA unravelling. The lack of ageing of lobsters etc.
