No sure when The Homecoming of Beorhtnoth Beorhthelm's Son was added to this book - one site says it was in 2001 with the Harper Collins edition, but another site says 1975. Also, should Smith of Wootton Major be listed here?

The Book is the "Tolkien Reader"[edit]

"Tree and Leaf" is merely a section in the book "The Tolkien Reader." "Farmer Giles of Ham," "The Adventures of Tom Bombadil," "Tolkien's Magic Ring," "Mythopoeia," and "The Homecoming of Beorhtnoth Beorhthelm's Son," are in the book "The Tolkien Reader" along with "Tree and Leaf."

At least in my book, is anyone else's different?

Tree and Leaf, and most of the others you list, was originally published as a separate book during Tolkien's lifetime. After his death those and others were compiled into a few 'anthologies' like The Tolkien Reader. The originals are now difficult to come by, but by coincidence I have a copy of Tree and Leaf... it was a very small book with generally poor quality paper and binding. --CBDunkerson 10:52, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
