Vandalism[edit]

It looks like two anonymous users have vandalized this page recently. I'm not familiar with the article, so I don't know what's right, and what's not. Mithras6 20:24, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

the biography part is gone.. can someone add it back? Noobskater 14:45, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added back a lot of the missing content. I hope I didn't get rid of anything that was subsequently added after the vandalism or during. That wasn't my intent but it was really hard to tell what was valid and what was not. Downstream 21:54, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to be something wrong with the layout, the last couple of articles are placed within a previous chart. 02 June 2009

Unsourced information[edit]

If anyone has a reputable source for this information, please cite the source (Wikipedia:Citing_sources) and add it back if you want: Barker and Moakler were seen in Disneyland holding hands and cuddling. [citation needed] Downstream 01:54, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fun fact: Source #11 for this page is a copy and paste of this Wikipedia page. Apparently, we cite ourselves for information now. --24.226.90.204 (talk) 19:26, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

El Caballero de la Salsa - there is no link or source that he played thi song — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.4.156.217 (talk) 21:54, 7 February 2012 (UTC) I thought he was related to MGK for a second[reply]

Genre[edit]

shouldn't travis' genre on the page include ska? i mean, he was in ska bands such as the aquabats and the suicide machines at one point, right?. therefore shouldn't that be included? im gonna add it in for now. (24.141.184.10 02:07, 20 March 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Music Videos[edit]

  • Does anyone know why he is in rap videos such as Throw Some D's. In that video, he is just standing around in a hood. He does nothing whatsoever, unless he supplies some drumming in the real song. HaLoGuY007 01:44, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's just popular in rap music to have the artists friends in the video, and as Travis Barker has links into the metal genre I'm guessing he's just friends with the artist. 16:36, 03 June 2008 (GMT) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.17.158.178 (talk)

Barker has links into the metal genre? Lolwut? Blink is closer to punk than metal, and to call them punk is a disservice to both punk and the band. Barker has nothing to do with metal at all... 2crudedudes (talk) 14:21, 6 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Who helped him with drumming[edit]

If someone has a citation for this: "Travis's good friend, Brendan Taylor helped Travis to become more involved in drumming." please feel free to add it back with the proper reference. Downstream 16:32, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MySpace links[edit]

Is there one too many MySpace links here? I am not sure this is in line with our external linking guidelines. Yamaguchi先生 04:27, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

associated acts[edit]

In the associated acts, I can read "queens of the stone age", but I can't see anything about his participation on anything related with QOTSA. Maybe it has to be removed... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cynferdd (talkcontribs) 14:50, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed this as well, I am Queens fan and I have never read anything on him playing with Josh or any other members of the band. Stoner rock just doesn't seem like his style of music. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.203.136.253 (talk) 21:21, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Guitar Hero?[edit]

I think the article should prolly mention how he's playable in GH:WT.

I have no writing skills though, someone else will have to do it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.114.103.151 (talk) 02:33, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting[edit]

There are a lot of formatting errors on the tables on this page. I'm not very good at fixing this cosmetic details... maybe someone else is? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Afuzzyllama (talkcontribs) 22:23, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the reference to the Rolling Stone Top 100 drummers list as it appears this "list" is really a hoax. There is no mention of it on Rolling Stone's site and the only version of it on the net seems to be this forum posting --BrianFG (talk) 06:00, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Plagiarism[edit]

In the "Reality television star and collaborations" section, there appears to be some plagiarism.

In particular the sentence, "Trying to blot out the guilt of giving his children a broken home, he consumed "excessive amounts" of prescription painkillers, marijuana and alcohol." From the original article: "Barker got divorced; trying to blot out the guilt of giving his children a broken home, he consumed “excessive amounts” of pills, weed and booze." http://rollingstoneindia.com/survival-of-the-snottiest/ KevinShapiroBoyOrphan (talk) 23:38, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I grew up with Travis![edit]

Travis and I went to high school together. After class him and I would always go to Guitar Center and jam out for hours. We actually planned a drum-off battle for the high school talent show. Needless to say, he won. -ℳ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Solorman08 (talkcontribs) 18:47, 26 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Associated acts[edit]

Hey everyone, I've been meaning to do this for a while. Due to Barker's long history of collaborations, I think it would be worth revising the criteria for who can be included for this page. The infobox is already incredibly excessive but doesn't even include everyone who fits that criteria. For example, some people who also fit that criteria are: Lil Lotus (two collabs), Avril Lavigne (two or six collabs), Willow (two collabs), Poorstacy (three collabs), Yungblud (three collabs), Eddie Rap Life (four collabs), LL Cool J (three collabs), KennyHoopla (whole mixtape). And there is more.

Template:Infobox musical artist's criteria is:

  • For individuals: groups of which they have been a member
  • Acts with which this act has collaborated on multiple occasions, or on an album, or toured with as a single collaboration act playing together
  • Groups which have spun off from this group
  • A group from which this group has spun off

My suggestion is to revise the criteria to:

  • For individuals: groups of which they have been a member
  • Acts with which this act has collaborated on a whole non–single release (album, EP, mixtape, etc.), or toured with as a single collaboration act playing together.

This would then include: +44, Antemasque, the Aquabats, Box Car Racer, Blink-182, Expensive Taste, Goldfinger, Transplants, TRV$DJAM, 03 Greedo, Asher Roth, Jxdn, Machine Gun Kelly, Nothing,Nowhere, Nottz, Suicideboys, Trippie Redd, Yelawolf, Fever 333, Lil Huddy and KennyHoopla.

I may have forgotten some from this list too.

The Kardashians TV Show in Television Infobox[edit]

I want to add The Kardashians TV show to the television infobox, but I don’t know how to do format it properly in the list along with Meet the Barkers. Can someone help me with this? NorthPark1 (talk) 21:01, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
