This article is written in Australian English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, realise, program, labour (but Labor Party)) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

FT-86[edit]

I added info about the G Sports FT-86 on the FT-86 concept page (under Toyota concept cars). Just noticed here is another page of toyota concept vehicles and some info on Gs FT86 also. Shouldnt we make a new page specifically for both the FT-86 concept and G Sports ? 21:18, preceding comment made by 27 January 2010 User:Valtersboze

Hi Valters. Last year I had to decided whether concept cars based on production cars should be in the article for the production car or whether they should be on the concept car pages. I decided that things are slightly more consistent if all concept cars are kept grouped together, the production car page has a simple link to the concept car and the concept car has a simple link to the production car. Since the concept cars are kept separate from the production cars, it also makes sense to keep each concept car variant separate. Eg. the FT-EV and FT-EV II get separate sections. this also voids the problem of having a car made in 2010 on the 2009 page (ie the reader would have to know the first year of the first variantof the concept car). The Toyota FT-86, Toyota FT-86 Concept and the Toyota FT-86 G Sports Concept have their own links and all are allowed to link to each other, so the reader can easily find the whole family.

As for a new page for the FT-86, we can do that when the FT-86 actually begins production (not yet fully decided by Toyota). If it does make production, then it can have links to the concepts cars on the 2000-2009 and 2010-2019 pages. Currently I have Toyota FT-86 redirected to the concept car but that is easy to change when it starts production. Stepho (talk) 05:38, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Prius c and FT-CH[edit]

The Prius c and the FT-CH are essentially the same concept, so perhaps they should be listed under one heading. --Truthiness (talk) 15:13, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

They certainly look very similar and would fulfil the same market niche. But there are also differences in the frontal treatment and the wheels. The 2010 FT-CH was designed in Europe, while we aren't told where the Prius c was designed (although if it was designed in the US and then shown at the North American International Auto Show then they would probably shout 'US designed' from the treetops, so it could well be designed in Europe too - maybe). With the limited information we have so far, the best we can say is the FT-CH is probably a predecessor of the Prius c Concept, which is probably the predecessor of a near future production vehicle.
