First Broadcast[edit]

Radio listings are available here http://www.jjonz.us/RadioLogs/pagesnfiles/logs_files/1950s/ Let me know, and supply the url as a reference if you find an earlier date. Steve Pastor (talk)

I see later in the article there was supposed to be an earlier show on Friday on KXLA. Haven't found that in the radio listings. Here is the first listing I have found Town Hall Party in. http://www.jjonz.us/RadioLogs/pagesnfiles/logs_files/1950s/1952/52_02Feb/%5bL%5d52-02-23-(Sat).pdf Always glad if someone finds an earlier listing. Steve Pastor (talk) 21:40, 10 April 2011 (UTC) Sheesh. Reverted my own edits after noting that listings for KXLA are not included in those Radio listings at that site, even though the call letters and frequency is listed at the top. Lastest update to earliest broadcast is that there is no record of the show being on the air before December 1951. That can be confirmed by searches in Newspapers.com and the California Digital Newspaper archive. I have yet to find a listing of the show on KXLA in the early 50s. Edits to come. Steve Pastor (talk

Wrong Bobby Charles[edit]

THP Bobby Charles "hails from Compton" and is actually Robert Charles Griggs. "Hails from Compton" is from a newspaper article. THAT Bobby Charles (a stage name) appeared in the LA into the earlyish sixties. area Also see Griggs LinkedIn entry. https://www.linkedin.com/in/sir-robert-charles-griggs-aka-bob-charles-1a682042/ Unless someone can refute this, I will redirect the entry to the Griggs page.
