Would like to add more[edit]
It would be nice ifthe manufacturer would add some commentary about the safety aspects of the material and provide some history of its use. I will contact the manufacturer and see if they have anyone interested in fleshing out this page.
We might consider advancing this page forward to remove it from Start Class once it's more complete if the mnanufacturer can be asked for input. Damotclese (talk) 17:05, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Use for waterproofing :)[edit]
I just love the idea of using Tovex for waterproofing -- using it around your windows, eaves of the house, places where water can seep in. :) But yes, the recent proposed updates classifying the material as waterproofing was a mistake, I think maybe. Damotclese (talk) 16:03, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
Mass effects - Unpredictable explosions?[edit]
According to Methylammonium nitrate, PR-M causes unpredictable explosions in storage. I'm not very familiar with explosives though. 24.130.94.168 (talk) 08:39, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
- There are heavy stabilizing material in Tovex, even if it is abandoned and stored in environmental conditions which are considered adverse, it is stable and does not spontaneously detonate. from what I understand of the extensive testing of this stuff, high voltage electric arcing testing and high wattage radio wave immersion has also been done to ensure that it meets intrinsic stability and safety to be transported on public roadways.
- For the Upper Bear Creek Trail work that was done by the Bear Divide Hot Shots and the San Gabriel Mountains Trailbuilders the Tovex was past its fire fighting "use by" date yet the Master Blaster and crews knew the material is entirely safe. Damotclese (talk) 15:42, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
