Nomenclature[edit]

Dana60Cummins, in this edit you added material related to TorqueFlite designation that does not, in my search, seem supportable. I cannot find evidence to support the assertion that TorqueFlites with e control designations necessarily used electronic control for the TCC and overdrive, but used hydromechanical control of the first three gears. That may be the case with e.g. the 42RE (renamed A998), but not with the 41TE (A604), which is fully electronic. Likewise, I find no material referring to a fe control designation used to designate "fully electronic" TorqueFlites. Do you have a reliable source for the fe assertion? —Scheinwerfermann T·C00:59, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No source, just experience. 41TE may be different from the 42/44/46 and 47 RE's. But those transmissions have the torque converter clutch controlled electronically, as well as overdrive. RH's are the same. I got wiring diagrams to prove this. --Dana60Cummins (talk) 00:04, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The only difference notable between the RH's and RE's in the 46/47 types is the fact one is controlled hydromechanical and the other electronically controlled.--Dana60Cummins (talk) 01:07, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Still Incomplete List[edit]

Anyway, incredibly, the 41TE is NOT shown in the list...! Amclaussen. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.100.180.19 (talk) 14:48, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

TorqueFliteChrysler TorqueFlite transmission – I propose the move to help disambiguate between the Chrysler designed TorqueFlite transmissions and the ZF designed "Torqueflite 8" transmissions VX1NG (talk) 13:05, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose per WP:TWODABS and WP:PRIMARY. A disambiguation page is not needed if there are only two topics, and one can be considered primary; this is resolved by doing the disambiguation in a hatnote, which Torqueflite already has. The ZF article, ZF 8HP transmission, fails WP:DABMENTION as it doesn't even mention TorqueFlite anywhere in the article, much less in the title, and there is no evidence at all that the longstanding TorqueFlite article is not the primary use of the term. bd2412 T 17:59, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
