Memories of Tony:

Tony had an amazing ability to engage students when he lectured and demonstrated in class. I saw him transform into an old Italian man playing Bocce, and then an English fishwife, a little boy, etc. all in a matter of minutes. It was a physical as well as spiritual transformation. It was mind boggling to watch. He said much of this phenomenon came from his study of Delsarte that began with Louise Gifford at Columbia University.
