Thomas McCarthy (actor) → Tom McCarthy (director) – Been known as Tom McCarthy for many years now, and has become much better known under that name — and as a writer-director — than he did as Thomas, or indeed, as an actor. Anyway, shall we choose Tom McCarthy (writer and director), Tom McCarthy (American writer), Tom McCarthy (screenwriter), or Tom McCarthy (filmmaker)? "(writer and director)" is clumsy; definitely not the "writer" suggestions; maybe "filmmaker". But I'd be inclined to Oppose any move and instead move the other name to novelist or author. — Film Fan 10:31, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
