TriMet spur really part of this branch?[edit]

The short spur in downtown Beaverton, to the Beaverton Transit Center, which was built for WES Commuter Rail in 2007–2008 is owned by transit agency TriMet and has never been owned by any railroad. Is it really considered part of the "Tigard branch"? I think a citation connecting WES with that name is needed. SJ Morg (talk) 03:44, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@SJ Morg it's a fine point (and one that the GIS site doesn't really help with). It's probably most akin to an industrial spur owned by an industry instead of the railroad proper. As to the name, this line has been called many things over the years: the Southern Pacific sometimes considered it the Tillamook branch, and Portland and Western uses various names (as mentioned in the text).
