By chance I happened on the article and the Proposed Deletion. I believe there is sufficient information for keeping the article (notability), and will continue to edit it over the coming week. For example, the Hymnary.orgpage for the hymn says that it is used in 49 hymnals, and, perusing the list, that includes significant denominations such as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the United Church of Canada (the largest protestant denomination in that country), the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and the Church of England; it is also in my copy of the current Presbyterian Church in Canada hymnal.
