WikiProject Question[edit]

How do I get this removed from the WikiProject Politics of the United Kingdom and entered in the WikiProject Irish Republicanism? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by High Noonan (talkcontribs) 15:53, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Don't forget to sign your posts by typing four tildes (~). Scolaire (talk) 09:10, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth / father[edit]

The article originally said, "Hunter was born in 1883 in the village of Castletownroche, County Cork in Ireland, son of Con Hunter, the local Creamery Manager, and his wife Ellen..." This was changed to "Hunter was born in 1880 in the village of Castletownroche, County Cork in Ireland, son of David Hunter, the local Creamery Manager, and his wife Ellen..." I'm guessing that the editor who changed it was working off this page from the 1901 census, which has a David Hunter with a wife Ellen and a 20-year-old son Thomas. However, David was a publican, not a creamery manager. This page, on the other hand, shows a Cornelius Hunter with a wife Ellen, who was a creamery manager, but does not show a Thomas. That may be because he was not in the house on census night. Anyway, this page on Ancestry.com (near the bottom) has a number of entries for Thomas Cornelius Hunter (1883-1932), including a photo of him with other members of the First Dáil and a baptism cert that (if you blow it up to 400% and squint) shows his father as Cornelius Hunter and his mother as Ellen Hayes. I am reverting all the recent edits back to this version. At the same time, it would be nice if Matt Hannan could tell us where he got his information. He hasn't been active recently, though. I support your research. Cornelius was the father of this Tom Hunter. If you are able to see it, I have added his Marriage record to Ancestry. You can clearly see the name of the father as Cornelius. http://mediasvc.ancestry.com/v2/image/namespaces/1093/media/357f9b8e-b7fc-4c89-bed9-14ff7ae879bf?client=TreesUI

Further, I have made contact with members of his extended family and they have helped me with the tree, which I keep here: http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/40339811/family?fpid=19505202817

I am hoping to finish up this article in the coming months. School, work and my young son take priority. Matt Hannan (talk) 13:11, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
