Add "Last Week Tonight" Episode into the Reception section:
In December 2023, the entertainer John Oliver adapted the narrative structure and visual language of "Thomas & Friends" for an episode of Last Week Tonight. For the episode, which takes a critical look at the lack of railroad safety in the USA, several scenes were filmed in the style of the original series, featuring blocked level crossings and exploding tank cars.
