Can you hlp me to rewrite it then? Although I don´t think it´s necessary. Lorynote (talk) 13:55, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Close paraphrasing[edit]

This article follows extremely closely on the structure of [1] and includes some of its language nearly verbatim ("Diogenes Laeterius states that she taught Pythagoras his moral doctrines" is reproduced as "Diogenes states that she taught Pythagoras his moral doctrines"). While facts are not copyrightable, creative elements of presentation - including both structure and language - are. So that it will not constitute a derivative work of that source, this article should be revised. The essay Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing contains some suggestions for rewriting that may help avoid these issues. The article Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2009-04-13/Dispatches, while about plagiarism rather than copyright concerns, also contains some suggestions for reusing material from sources that may be helpful, beginning under "Avoiding plagiarism". --Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:36, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
